When I was a kid, I hated family photos. So much. I hated having my hair all done up, I despised wearing a fancy dress and putting on a fake smile in front of a stranger in an uncomfortable, cold studio I’d never stepped foot in. “Move here,” “move there,” “sit up straight.”
It was less about me protesting taking photos with my parents, and more about me not wanting to be told what to do.
I guess my philosophy on family portraits probably comes from those experiences.
Sure, I’m here to give direction. I’ll tell you if you need to lift your chin a bit. But I also want you to have fun. I want your kids to laugh. I want everyone to feel comfortable, not stiff.
That’s why I love in-home family photo sessions. It’s not just about convenience. Families are more relaxed in their own space. Your kids talk more, move more freely, act more like themselves. What to Expect
No rush. No pressure. Just your family, as you are.
You book an afternoon with me. I only schedule one session a day, so there's no rush, no clock to watch, no pressure to wrap things up.
Most families take somewhere between one and two and a half hours. Some are quicker, some need a little more time. We follow your pace. If the kids need a snack break, we take one. If someone has a meltdown, we wait it out.
You show up, I guide you, we let the kids be kids. Nobody has to hold a smile for an hour.

Where We Shoot
In-home sessions with a simple black or white backdrop, or outdoor if you prefer natural light. Travel is included within 20 miles of Archbald. A small fee applies beyond that.
When You Get Your Photos
Within two weeks of your session. No months-long wait.
